To ensure a smooth and secure onboarding process, DFL works in partnership with RMIS (Registry Monitoring Insurance Services)—a trusted third-party provider specializing in carrier compliance and registration. Through RMIS, you’ll be able to quickly submit required documents, verify insurance coverage, and get approved to haul freight with DFL. This streamlined process helps us maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and service across our entire carrier network.

What are the requirements to start hauling with DFL?

To begin hauling freight with DFL, carriers must meet a few key requirements to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability across our network.

Requirements to Haul for DFL

To become an approved carrier with DFL, we require the following documentation and coverage to ensure compliance and service excellence:

  • A valid MC Number or State DOT Number (for intrastate carriers)

  • A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) and completed W-9 form

  • Minimum $1,000,000 in Auto Liability Insurance

  • Minimum $100,000 in Cargo Insurance

  • Workers’ Compensation Coverage (as required by law)

  • Reefer Breakdown Coverage listed on your insurance certificate (if applicable)

  • A completed online Carrier Contract*

What to Expect During the Onboarding Process

  • Contact and general profile details, including Equipment Type, Commodities Handled, Operating Areas, and Regional Coverage

  • Review and acceptance of Broker/Carrier Agreements

  • Submission of required Insurance Documents and Producer Instructions

  • Completion of your W-9 and Taxpayer Information

  • Details about our available Carrier Programs and Opportunities
